| Mike Hudddleston - Program Head and Botany Instructor | ||||||||

MIKE
HUDDLESTON - Mike
has been a member of the biology faculty at North Lake College for the
past seventeen years. Prior to that he was a division dean for thirteen
years and a biology faculty member for two years at Cedar Valley College.
Mike has been a member of the Hawaiian Field Studies team since its beginning
in 1985. He has a broad background in field work in Hawaii, having done
graduate work at The University of Hawaii at Manoa and having developed
and taught Biological Field Studies for The University of Hawaii. Additionally,
Mike has conducted field programs on the Texas Gulf Coast for the past
thirty years. |

| Dr. Len Kubicek - Geology Instructor | ||||||||

DR.
LEN KUBICEK - Dr.
Kubicek has been a geology faculty member at North Lake College for the
past thirty years. He joined the Hawaiian field Studies team in its second
year. He has participated in a number of short courses in geology in Hawaii
and has a broad background in field work in the western United States.
He has also offered field courses in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado,
Alberta Canada, and Alaska. |

RON
BEECHAM - Ron
has been a biology faculty member for the past 30 years. He is currently
an Eastfield faculty member. Prior to that he worked at Cedar Valley and
Mountain View Colleges in the Dallas County Community College District.
Ron is an avid student of field biology and invertebrate zoology. He has
an extensive background in diving at many locations around the world and
is an accomplished underwater photographer. Ron has worked in the Hawaiian
Field Studies program since its beginning and had done considerable field
work in the Hawaiian Islands. He has also conducted field studies programs
on the Texas Gulf Coast, in Idaho and Jamaica. |

| Matthew Dempsey - Student Coordinator / Tutor | ||||||||
|
MATTHEW DEMPSEY - Matthew is currently pursuing a Masters in Biology (Aquatic Botany) at the University of North Texas. His project is centered around invasive plant biology, specifically to the North Texas region. He had been a lab instructor in biology at North Lake college for five years, teaching labs in majors and non majors biology and microbiology. He operates the Science Learning Center and has been a member of that staff since it's inception. He has worked with the Hawaiian Field Studies Program since 1999 as both a van driver and with contacting students. In 2005 he developed and taught the lab for the Invertebrate Zoology course for second year Hawaii Students. Matthew is also part of the Canadian Field Studies Program.
