#1 Student Expense Fee AKA "Student Fee" AKA "Student TripFee" Explained The student assessment and travel fee is sort of a catch all fee that covers but not limited to the following. Four inter-island flights, lodging on the big island and Kauai (lodging for Oahu is covered by either your airline or land only package – see section 1 of this document), van rental, fuel, insurance, guest lectures, admissions to parks and activities etc. This fee is different than the tuition as it covers costs, not classes. This fee is roughly $TBD and a definite amount will be available some time in December. The fee is comprised of two payments. #1) $TBD deposit #2) $TBD balance payment. #3 Airline Package / Land ONLY Package Explained The travel to Hawaii is ultimately the responsibility of the student.
You may use airline miles, take a cruise, search online for a fare or
swim if you like. The Hawaiian Field Studies Program uses Rufe Snow
Travel based in North Richland Hills for our travel package. The
package usually costs around $TBD and includes the following; airfare,
lodging on Oahu and transportation to and from Honolulu airport.
A detailed amount of this package’s actual cost will be available
some time in February. When it comes to booking your airline you
have 2 options:
If you choose to book your own flight here are your steps
A couple more notes about booking your flight. You may choose to book your flight for any day you like. Our only stipulation is that you arrive in time to begin the field studies and you depart some time after final exams. Rewarding yourself with a few days vacation is a nice way to end the field studies experience. Keep in mind that travel outside of the program is your responsibility. This includes hotel, transportation arrangements etc. et. al. I will be more than happy to make reccomendations for you if you like. More contact information for Rufe Snow Travel below.
* Deposit is non refundable |
